The news is out! Fabric is Microsoft’s new lake-centric software-as-a-service solution for data integration, data engineering, data warehousing, data science, real-time analytics, applied observability, and business intelligence. It’s an evolution of Azure Synapse with a suite of analytical experiences that work seamlessly together.
We are incredibly excited to be the first community conferences to put Microsoft Fabric on the agenda!
How does this affect Data Platform Next Step 2023?
The organizers of Data Platform Next Step as well as speakers from Microsoft and MVPs had prior knowledge about this change. This means that a lot of the abstracts were intentionally vague or designed to fit Microsoft Fabric. You will therefore see a slight change in many of the abstracts and titles in the next few days.
The Azure Synapse Analytics training day and many of the Synapse Analytics sessions will change focus to Microsoft Fabric. You don´t have to worry if you want to learn about Synapse Analytics as the tools within the platforms are mostly the same. This means that almost everything you will learn is applicable to Synapse Analytics as well. You will just be better prepared for the future and will have a clearer understanding on the advantages of Microsoft Fabric.
